Having one of the top boudoir blogs in the world allows me to let women know that there is no "mold" be had when getting in front of the camera and having a shoot. Currently, every industry is having a come-to Jesus moment where they finally see that Beauty is not a one size fits all bra. There are different women and each type of beauty needs to be normalized and celebrated.
When some clients come to see me they are a bit apprehensive because of these inaccurate idealogues that we have all consciously and unconsciously absorbed. I always challenge my clients to get out of their heads during our session and only focus on each other. I want them to be intuned with their higher feminine power and completely own the session to help create the photos of their dreams.
Q: How did you feel shooting with Wonderland Boudoir?
A: I felt as if I could take on the world. I normally struggle with self-confidence as I have always felt like I could never do a shoot because I didn’t “fit the mold”, I wasn’t “pretty enough” and I’ve never seen people who looked like me doing photo shoots. Korin put me at ease and helped me feel comfortable enough to drop all of my fears and worries and I just let myself dive headfirst into the experience. Korin helped me bring my sexy, confident side front and center in every shot she took. She helped guide me through the entire shoot and hands down it has been the best shoot I’ve ever done. A true artist, professional, and a master of her craft.
Q: What did you learn from your session that really helped you?
A: She helped guide me through the poses and how to present and project certain “moods” into the shots. She also helped find my best angles for shots and it’s as if she already knew what areas of my body I was self-conscious of and she helped me put my best self out there.
Q: What was your favorite part about getting ready for your second session?
A: Honestly, challenging myself to do better. I wanted to take all that I was taught and take it to the next level. Andddd I also had fun looking at all the cute outfits that I could wear 😊
Q: How was shooting outside for you? Would you suggest that for other women wanting a boudoir session?
A: I had a crowd of people looking up at me and I felt like a total babe. I’m usually a little reserved and shy and to come out of my shell....with my ass out...with a crowd of people below me was a whole new experience for me. I was like, “Damn, I guess I am foine”. I would say, it’s a different way to come out of your comfort zone and try something new. Don’t focus on your fears, but on you and Korin. She is here for you, you are here for you and everything else is just background noise.
Q: What is something that you learned about yourself after your second session?
A: That I should focus on myself, tend to my own needs and love myself more. I’ve always been used to putting myself and my needs/desires on the back burner because someone needed help with something, I wasn’t confident enough or I stepped up to help ease or assist others when they needed it most so often that I would neglect myself and my needs. I knew what it felt like to go through tough times alone and how much I would have liked someone to help me so I made a promise to be that person for someone whenever they needed it. I guess I got so lost in being there the moment someone needed help because I didn’t want them to go through what I felt, so I poured myself into their problems and focused on helping them get back on their feet that I neglected myself and my own problems. I still struggle with it but the boudoir session helped put that into perspective for me.
Q: What are some suggestions that you would give other women considering a boudoir session for the first or second time?
A: Let go of that negative voice in your head that says you can’t do this. Boudoir is for everyone and you deserve the right to feel beautiful, confident, and sexy in your own skin. Come in ready to have fun and ready to show the world your best self.
Q: Please add any final thoughts you might have.
A: I absolutely loved my experience and I’m ready to go back with my best foot forward.
Ms. R said it better than I ever could have: "Boudoir is for everyone and you deserve the right to feel beautiful, confident, and sexy in your own skin." Sheeeeeeeh.
Listen, you deserve to do the damn session. You deserve to put yourself first. Like Ms. R said. I will be there for you during your shoot. You should be there during your shoot.
