I LOVE boudoir mini sessions!  They are my favorite to shoot because it requires me to get creative quickly because we only have a limited time to shoot.  I need to make sure that you look beautiful to ensure you have a ton of photos to choose from during our in-person reveal!

Our Summer boudoir mini sessions will be held August 27th and 28th near Downtown Dallas.  My team is beyond excited to make this experience one of a kind for you.  

Why should you Book a Mini Session?  

The mini sessions are about 40% cheaper than our normal entry collection.  That's a savings of $240!  With that, you get hair, makeup, 10 digital images, and a 10-page hardback photo book of the pictures of your choice!

Mini sessions are a great way of getting your feet wet with boudoir.  If you're interested you can book a full-fledged session with us in the future.  Feel free to let your friends know about your session.

What are the Details of the Boudoir Mini Session?

• Price: $357
• Deposit: $89.25 (non-refundable). The remaining balance of $267.75 will be due at the time of the session.
• Mini Session Includes: Hair, Makeup, 10 digital photos, and a 10-page book.
• Photo Reveals: Photo reveals will happen about 14 days after our session.  This will be an in-person reveal.  In our reveal, you will have 30 lightly edited proofs to select from as your final 10 photos for digital copies.   The photos chosen will be the same ones used to create your book.

What if I want More Photos after Seeing my Reveal?

You will have the option to purchase additional photos.  Each additional photo is priced at $20 or you can purchase your full set for $250!  If you like a 30-page book instead of a 10-page book that price will be $150 (savings of $105!!!).  

The average client spends about an average total of $750 when they upgrade to the full package.  

All final products will be hand delivered to ensure receipt.  

If you do decide to upgrade your package 50% of the cost must be paid at the time of the session. The remaining balance will be due when you receive the final product.

How to get the Most Out of Your Boudoir Session | Dallas Boudoir Photography

If you guys haven’t noticed I did a MAJOR facelift to Wonderland Boudoir.  I thought my website was good but I had been toying with the idea of updating it for awhile.  After a long conversation and a virtual reality check from Denise Birdsong( from Modern Love Photography) I took off one full weekend to updated my boudoir site.  

One of the suggestions that Denise had for me was to use one solid image as my anchor image.  As soon as she said that I knew what image… or in my case images… that would be.  

Recently my client Tia drove all the way down from Arkansas to shoot with me for her 21st birthday.  I felt so honored that she allowed me to take these beautiful photos for her.  

There is a reason why Tia’s photos came out so incredibly amazing.  Tia communicated exactly what she wanted from her photos, already had her wardrobe ready, listened with intention, and kept an open mind.  

COMMUNICATION IS KEY FOR SUCCESSFUL BOUDOIR

The most important element in ANY relationship is communication.  Tia and I communicated so much that it was easy to gauge exactly want she wanted.  

She hit me up on the Gram (translation: Tia sent me a direct message on the social media platform Instagram) inquiring about a session.  She was turning 21 and wanted to do a shoot to celebrate herself and all her accomplishments to this point in her life. 

Tia already had a clear idea of what she wanted to accomplish from her session.  She wanted single, strong, and sexy.  She backed up this concept with inspirational photos as her example. She would find and screenshot photos from other models or photographers on Instagram.  There would be some mornings where I would wake up and find a whole slew of inspirational photos that she had gathered the night before.  

I love when clients send too much information rather than not enough.  I never want a client to feel as though they are “bugging” me when they send reference photos.  That doesn’t bother me.  If anything I encourage it.  It shows you're dedicated and excited about your upcoming boudoir session.  

Since Tia was able to explain what she wanted out of her boudoir session through photos and conversation we were able to produce beautiful imagery the reflected exactly what she wanted.  

PERFECT OUTFITS FOR YOU BOUDOIR LOCATION

What you wear to your session should not only reflect  your personality and body shape but the location of where the session will take place.  People tend to forget look over the fact that location plays an important role in planning for your outfit.  What you wear should compliment that location.  

Currently, Calvin Klien is all the rage again.  We are seeing CK underwear everywhere.  Kendall Jenner, Justin Bieber, and Twigs has been rocking this retro brand. Even Urban Outfitters now carries the line.  Calvin Klein represents minimalistic sexiness.  Something Generation Yr’s love.  I mean we did grow up with CK.  

Since CK represents minimalistic strength I knew the focus would be on her and to use the room as a backdrop for negative space.  The CK brand is strong enough not to need an extra fancy bedroom set.  The focus would be her and her Calvin Kleins.  

Since the focus was just going to be leveraged on style and posing I knew I had to shoot very simplistic and strong.  Sometimes the most effective element of art is simplicity.

HOW TO POSE FOR A BOUDOIR SESSION

Having strong and effective poses is critical when producing amazing boudoir photos.   When you look at your photos 20,30,50 years from now you will want your pictures to bring you to back the beautiful emotional state you were in when you first saw them.  Part of that is creating strong and evocative posing.  

Practice Makes Perfect

Tia is not a professional model and nor are most women who take part in a boudoir session so it’s up to the photographer to help pull out the best poses.  However, it would be really beneficial to you as the client to study magazines and movies prior to your session.  While I am not a huge selfie person I do suggest that you guys practice your “modeling face” by taking selfies and learning what your face actually does (not what you think it does) when you’re taking a photo.  

Listen with Intention

Listening to your photographer about how to achieve level 10 posing will help create epic photos that you want to buy.  Hearing is something we do all day, but listening is not something we all practice on a daily basis.  Tia rocked this season because she listened with intention.  She didn’t think about what she going to do while I was coaching her poses. She listened and then went into the pose. 

Keep an Open Mind

Keeping an open minded during your boudoir session will help you create beautiful photos with your photographer. While Tia knew exactly what she wanted from her session she did keep an open mind up when I suggested a mild variation on any idea.  Your photographer is accomplished and well versed. Typically when they suggest something it’s because they see something you may not because they do this quite often. 

Just Remember...

When you and your boudoir photographer work as a team you will create beautiful images that you will cherish for a lifetime.  In order to create these beautiful images, you need to have open and constant communication.  Also, your apparel and lingerie should match your location, you must practice strong posing, and you have to keep an open mind.

Recently I participated in the Dallas Bridal Show and a common question was, “Why should I do wedding boudoir?”

Wedding boudoir is a fantastic gift that you can give to your husband to be.  It’s incredibly intimate, very vulnerable, and extremely sexy.  Many men would love to be gifted a series of beautifully curated sexy images of his wife that were created with him and only him in mind.  Today I will give you 4 reasons why you should have a wedding boudoir session done for your wedding day.  

4 Reason Why Bridal Boudoir is the Best Groom's Gift, EVER!

1. bridal boudoir is a Great Way To Get Detailed Photos of Your Wedding Dress

An essential part of bridal boudoir is getting shots in your wedding dress.  While you will have the opportunity to have pictures taken of you in the wedding dress on your wedding day most of the time they will not be as detailed as they would be in bridal boudoir.  

Remember, the wedding dress commemorates a number of things.  One of those things is dedicating yourself to your partner in the most intimate way for the rest of your life.  Bridal boudoir is just that, intimate.  Your bridal boudoir photographer will capture beautiful photos of you in your dress from veil all the way to shoes.  You will get the stitching, lace, and the minuet details that make up your complete wedding day gown and overall look.

Depending on your taste and comfort level the boudoir photographer will slowly have you undress out of your wedding dress while they photograph the process.  In many cases  slowly revealing you in beautifully curated lingerie that matches your gown.  I always suggest leaving the veil on in a number of photos because it adds a sense of sexiness, uniqueness, and points of interesting texture to your photos.  Done correctly, the veil is a great tool to make your photos unique to your session.  

You spent A LOT of money on your wedding dress.  This is a gown that you, ideally, plan on wearing only once to show the people closest to you how important your partner is.  According to the XO Group the average wedding dress cost $1200. This is probably the most expensive dress that you will buy in your life so it’s important to get the most out of it.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR A BRIDAL BOUDOIR SESSION

1.) When should you schedule a session?

If you plan on doing bridal boudoir as a gift to your significant other I suggest doing it no later than three months before your wedding day.  Lets be real, your wedding date will creep up on you and boudoir photography is not something that you want to rush or do last minute.  Especially if you plan on buying frames or books as a groom's gift.

For example, some of the books we provide at Wonderland Boudoir are handmade in Italy.  When I say handmade I mean for real for real made by hand.  It takes up to 1 month to get these high quality Italian leather made books back from Italy.  Trust me, I cannot rush the process (I know from first hand experience).  

On top of getting the book done, as in life, you have to always expect for the unexpected.  Booking a number of months before your wedding gives you buffer time in the event that the unimaginable happens.  

2.) What should I buy from my bridal boudoir session?

A lot if this depends your taste, needs, and decor.  Many women get frames of themselves from their boudoir session.   Depending on the photos I have most woman place their photos in their closets or master bathrooms.   Books are a great option too.  Books can either be displayed or placed in the master bedroom as decoration.  One of our Italian made books comes with it’s own case that is perfect for inconspicuous display.

Sometimes I have women who have husbands who travel a lot.  They typically purchase a big book and an accordion book so they can always have sexy photos with him.

3.) How do I present the book as a wedding gift?

There are a number of ways to present your photos and book.  I had a sorority sister of mine send a sexy photo each day before the wedding day.  The morning of the wedding she had delivered a full book to him of her session.  He was more than happy to see these beautiful photos of his wife.

4 Tips for a Successful Bridal Session & Bridal Boudoir Lookbook

Bridal boudoir in Dallas is a huge thing and it's important that you pick a photographer that will match your aesthetic and vision.  Here at Wonderland Boudoir in Dallas we love doing Bridal Boudoir!  Its fun, sexy, and a great gift for your husband to be.

 Tips for a Successful Bridal Session

 1.) Include the Dress

 You spent a large sum of money on a dress that you may only wear once. This dress may end up living in your closet until it’s donated it or passes on to a daughter or a family friend.  I think taking as many pictures in your dress, even prior to your wedding is a good idea.  

 A boudoir session is an excellent place to get a lot of detailed shots of your dress.  A wedding dress has tons of detailing and it's important to get as much detailing as possible.  Also, having a boudoir session done in your gown allows you to show off you sensual and sexy time to your future husband in a way that expresses commitment to only him.  You have most likely dieted and worked out to get the perfect body for you dress.  It’s your time to shine and look amazing in your dress. 

 2.) Lingerie that Matches the Dress

 Styling and aesthetics are everything in photoshoots.  This isn't the first time I have stated this and it won't be the last.  For your boudoir session to be impactful it's important to have clothes complement each other, the decor of the room, and the reason for the session.  Most importantly, your lingerie should complement your dress.

 3.) Accessories Make your Boudoir Experience Unique

How you decide to pair your accessories to your dress is an individual decision that will be based off many factors. One of those factors being your personal style. However, I have to say that if your lingerie and dress are really detailed then it may be better to not go with too much bling. Yes, I know the Texan ideology is that there can never be too much bling… but in the case of your boudoir photos, it can. 

 On the other hand if your dress and lingerie are really plain then bring the bling on!

 4.) DO NOT TAN or GET A SPRAY TAN THE DAY OF OR BEFORE YOUR BOUDOIR SESSION

Getting a tan or a spray tan a day or two ahead of your boudoir session is a complete mistake!

 Spray tans have a tendency to leave residue.  If you are wearing white then the last thing you want to do before your big day is have orange marks over you dress or our sets.  If you must have a spray tan please schedule to have it done at least 5 days before your planned boudoir session.

 Tans are also not a good idea because they have a tendency to make you look orange in photos.  This causes a huge issue in post processing work for the photos and they may not be able to correct your skin complexion due to the unnatural skin darkening.

I hope these four tips helped you out before your boudoir session.  Including your wedding dress, accessorizing, wearing the right lingerie, and not tanning before your session will help lead to a successful bridal boudoir session.

What are the Best Frames to Buy from My Boudoir Session?

4 Awesome Ways to Present Your Boudoir Photos as a Gift

You finally got your boudoir photos back.  You have the album you purchased, the digital photos in hand, and maybe even a frame, but how do you present these beautiful gifts to your husband?  Today we have four unique ways on how to give your sexy boudoir gifts to your significant other. 

Presenting Boudoir as a Wedding Gift

I shot my sorority sister's boudoir photos as a wedding gift to her and her husband. She gave her photos to her, then fiancé at the time, in the best manner ever.   They decided that six months before thire wedding they were going to be abstinent.  On the wedding night she would give herself to him.   She said the six months was a real struggle, but they had made it.

 Well,  the week of their wedding each day she decided she would send him a boudoir photo every day to his phone until the big day.  He was so happy to get each one of those photos that he couldn’t wait to leave the reception to claim is bride!   Trust me.  I got the biggest thank you ever from both parties.  

Boudoir as a Valentine’s Day Present

Set up a scavenger hunt for your man.  Use your boudoir photos as they cards where the message can be found.   With each clue make sure each  picture becomes more and more sexy.  Have the scavenger hunt end in the bedroom where he finds you with an album and wearing the lingerie that was featured in all the photos. 

Boudoir Photos as a Birthday Present

Many people these day have huge screen TVs.  Have a slide show playing for him when he comes home that features all your beautiful photos from your boudoir session.  Don’t be in the room when he comes in.  After the slide show is complete slowly walk into the room with a small birthday cake and perhaps one of your favorite photos framed that he can keep in his room.

A Boudoir Present Just because the Day Ends in "Y"

You don’t need a reason to have a boudoir session.  Do it because you want to not because something special is about to happen.  Live life to the fullest.   Therefore give your man an unexpected surprise just because he makes you happy.

I know this is modern times and most men don’t carry around briefcases anymore, but most do carry around backpacks or messenger bags to hold their laptops for travel. I suggest buying an album and slipping it into his backpack the night before.  When he opens his bag the next day he will get the surprise of his life. 

Just make sure you know what he plans are for that day.  You don’t want him to head into a very important meeting with the CEO, CFO, or COO and your boudoir book falls open in front of everyone.  Please take his day plans into consideration to avoid any embarrassment.
